STUIBENFALL WATERFALL IN UMHAUSEN

The Stuibenfall waterfall – with a height of 159m Tirol’s highest waterfall – guarantees a perpetual nature spectacle with a difference.

The history of the Stuibenfall waterfall starts in the village of Köfels, which today faces the waterfall. Some 9000 years ago a gigantic rockslide blocked the Horlachbach brook. The water searched for a new outlet and the Stuibenfall waterfall emerged. This unique spectacle of nature – starting at the waterfall’s origin in the high-Alpine Zwieselbach, Larstig and Grastal glaciers and continuing to the waterfalls mouthing into the Ötztal Ache river – can be experienced with all senses on an adventure hike. The Stuibenfall loop trail has been awarded with the Tirolean Seal of Quality for mountain trails.
